To mark the 14th anniversary of Ocean Park Conservation Day, the Development Bureau, HKSARG and Ocean Park Conservation Foundation, Hong Kong co-organize a photo exhibition on Wolong Nature Reserve, the pandas' hometown. The exhibition showcases the situation of Wolong before and after the devastating earthquake. It also appeals for public support on the rebuilding of panda nature reserves in Sichuan.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition on 10 January 2009 was officiated by Mrs. Carrie Lam, Secretary for Development, Ms. Judy Chen, OPCFHK Chairlady, Dr. Allan Zeman, Chairman of Ocean Park as well as Mr. Louis Koo, the celebrity guest. During the event, all honorable guests went through a pictorial journey detailing the aftermath of the Sichuan earthquake and the effect it had on the pandas there, the challenges they are facing and what the public can do to help.
There are two sets of exhibition, one is held inside Ocean Park, and the other at public area outside Ocean Park. The exhibition takes place from 10 January to 1 March 2009 under the Giant Panda Habitat at Ocean Park and as roving exhibition at six other locations outside the Park.
