Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) inspects HKSAR's Post-quake Reconstruction Work in Sichuan

Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Mr Wai Chi Sing, led a delegation to Sichuan from 16-18 June 2013 to inspect HKSAR’s reconstruction projects in the Wenchuan earthquake-stricken areas. The inspection covered five projects in Ya’an attacked by the “4.20” Lushan earthquake (Lushan County Longxing Central School, Lushan County Junior Secondary School, Lushan County Rehabilitation Centre for the Disabled, Yaan City Chinese Medicine Hospital and Xingxian Primary School), Provincial Road 303, as well as five projects in the Wolong Nature Reserve (China Conservation and Research Centre for Giant Panda, Wolong Central Primary School, Nature and Earthquake Museum, Offices and service buildings for the Wolong Administration and Restoration and reconstruction of power supply system). The delegation also met with officials of the Sichuan Provincial Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Ya’an City Government and Wolong Administration to exchange views on the reconstruction work.
